BEN MORRIS LAUNCHES AGGRESSIVE
“VOTER SWITCH DRIVE”
Morris Alerts Voters To New Election Rules
Slidell, LA - Mayor Ben Morris, Republican front runner candidate for Congress in the
1st District has announced plans to host a “Voter Switch Drive” this Saturday, Sunday
and Monday, February 2, 3 and 4 to help area voters understand the new Louisiana
Election Laws.
“For the first time in over 30 years, Louisiana will be holding a closed primary election,”
said Ben Morris. “Folks don’t realize that only registered Republicans will be allowed
to vote for Republican candidates in the March 8th election,” continued Morris. “It’s
easy to change your party registration, but time is running out and we want to educate
everyone and make sure that their vote will count on Election Day,” Morris concluded.
How To Be Sure Your Vote Will Count In The Primary
The Morris campaign has created two easy ways for voters to change their party
registration.
1. Visit the Voter Switch Drive and switch live-in-person.
The event will be held Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 4pm at the
corner of Gause & 7th Street (in front of Sherwin Williams, near the old Slidell
Athletic Club). King Cake and Coffee will be served to all who stop by.
2. Download a Voter Switch Card
Go to www.benmorrisforcongress.com and download the card. Then fax the card
to your local Registrar’s office or mail place in the mail to be postmarked by
Tuesday, February 6, 2008.
The Morris campaign is also utilizing direct mail and telephone marketing to get the
word out about the new election rules. The deadline for changing party registration is
Tuesday, February 6 – Mardi Gras Day.
“We want to make sure that everyone who wants to vote in the Republican Primary has
an opportunity to do so,” said Mayor Ben Morris. “And it would certainly be nice if they
voted for me!” Morris concluded with a grin.
